The Department of Environmental Supervision Identified 215 Violations Within 10 Days of the Opening of the Hunting Season
Employees of the Department of Environmental Supervision of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture identified 215 violations across the country within 10 days of the opening of the hunting season for migratory birds.
Of the identified violations, 59 involved hunting with prohibited weapons, methods, or means. In 17 cases, hunters had not paid the fee required for the taking of migratory birds from the wild, while in 13 cases, offenders were hunting in prohibited areas, namely within city limits.
Within 10 days of the opening of the hunting season, Department employees seized 125 illegal hunting devices, including electronic sound devices used to attract birds.
Throughout the migratory bird hunting season, the Department of Environmental Supervision is further intensifying monitoring across the country. As part of its efforts to combat poaching, the Department actively uses various tools and technologies, including high-mobility vehicles, so-called buggies, drones, camera traps, and thermal binoculars. As a result of strengthening the Department’s capacities and introducing modern technologies into practice, state environmental control has become more effective.
The Department of Environmental Supervision calls on citizens to comply with hunting regulations and, in case of any violation, to call the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture’s hotline at 153 (no area code required; calls are free of charge and anonymity is guaranteed), so that the relevant regional division of the Department can respond promptly.
