The Department of Environmental Supervision Identified 40 Violations Within 12 Hours of the Opening of the Hunting Season
Employees of the Department of Environmental Supervision of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture identified 40 violations across the country within 12 hours of the opening of the hunting season for migratory birds.
Of the violations identified, 10 involved hunting with prohibited weapons, methods, or means; four hunters had not paid the fee required for the removal of migratory birds from the wild; while in 10 cases, the offenders were hunting in prohibited areas, namely within city limits.
Within 12 hours of the opening of the hunting season, Department officers seized 19 illegal devices used to attract birds, known as electronic bird callers.
Throughout the migratory bird hunting season, the Department of Environmental Supervision is further intensifying monitoring across the country. As part of its efforts to combat poaching, the Department actively uses various tools and technologies, including high-mobility vehicles, so-called buggies, drones, camera traps, and thermal binoculars. As a result of strengthening the Department’s capacities and introducing modern technologies into practice, state environmental control has become more effective.
The Department of Environmental Supervision calls on citizens to comply with hunting regulations and, in case of any violation, to call the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture’s hotline at 153 (no area code required; calls are free of charge and anonymity is guaranteed), so that the relevant regional division of the Department can respond promptly.
