The Department of Environmental Supervision has identified cases of environmental pollution by waste in the Mtskheta-Mtianeti region
Employees of the Mtskheta-Mtianeti Regional Division of the Department of Environmental Supervision under the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture have identified 4 cases of violations of the Waste Management Code.
The violations were recorded in the villages of Tserovani, Tsilkani, Dzalisi, and Navdaraantkari, in Mtskheta Municipality. Citizens polluted the environment with construction waste (up to 10 cubic meters), inert waste (exceeding 10 cubic meters), and municipal waste (over 2 kilograms).
Effective control of waste management is one of the main priorities for the Department of Environmental Supervision. The patrol crews of the Department of Environmental Supervision conduct continuous 24-hour monitoring nationwide to ensure the timely prevention, detection, and suppression of environmental violations. Immediate action is taken in response to every report received through the Ministry’s hotline (153).
During the first three months of the current year, 912 violations of the Waste Management Code were identified nationwide, including 114 cases within the operational area of the Mtskheta-Mtianeti Regional Division.
