The Department of Environmental Supervision has identified 10 cases of illegal forest use in Adjara.



Employees of the Adjara and Guria Regional Division of the Department of Environmental Supervision under the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture have identified violations in the municipalities of Kobuleti, Khelvachauri, and Shuakhevi as part of efforts to combat illegal forest use.

 In the villages of Leghva, Mukhaestateti, Chikuneti, Baratauli, Zhanivri, Brili, Kidzinidzeebi and Gomarduli, citizens illegally harvested various species of trees and plants.

 In total, 57 illegally harvested round logs were seized, including 52 coniferous logs and 5 chestnut logs listed in the Red List.

 Combating illegal forest use remains a top priority for the Department.Within the framework of combating poaching and other environmental crimes, the Department actively employs modern technologies. As a result, approximately 400 cases of illegal forest use were identified last year in the Adjara and Guria operational area alone.
