The Department of Environmental Supervision has identified a case of illegal hunting of a roe deer in the Imereti region.



 

Employees of the Western Regional Division of the Environmental Supervision Department of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture have identified a case of illegal hunting in the Kharagauli Municipality.

In the village of Ubisa, a poacher killed a roe deer using a hunting firearm. The environmental damage caused by the offense amounts to 5,000 GEL.

 

An investigation has been launched by the Kharagauli District Division of the Ministry of Internal Affairs under Part 1 of Article 301 of the Criminal Code in connection with the poaching case identified by the employees of the Department of Environmental Supervision.

 

The patrol crews of the Department of Environmental Supervision conduct continuous 24-hour monitoring nationwide to ensure the timely prevention, detection, and suppression of illegal hunting and other environmental violations. In addition, they provide immediate responses to all reports received through the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture’s hotline (153).
